Navrefs are navigational references, locations marked on maps by the Amtrak Federation used as waypoints and markers for missions on the overground.
Navrefs are usually named for Pre-H towns, cities or other settlements that were destroyed in the War of a Thousand Suns. In most cases, all physical evidence of the settlement in question has been eradicated, and the name only survives on maps. For example, the Battle of the Now and Then River took place near navref Cheyenne, Wyoming.
